Tri-Merit’s 2023 Updates: A Year of Growth and Change
As we navigated through 2023, the landscape of the R&D tax credit world had gone through significant alterations. At Tri-Merit, we are closely monitoring these changes to serve our clients better.
One of the major shocks this year has been the ERC moratorium, which has significantly impacted the ERC world, particularly ERC mills. To counter this, we introduced our ERC credit claim verification services, ensuring that our clients continue to receive the support they need during these turbulent times.
The Inflation Reduction Act has also made its mark this year, making 179D and 45L more valuable incentives. We understand the importance of these incentives for our clients and have integrated this into our service offerings.
In 2023, we stepped up our lobbying activities with NAM, TECNA, and ACEC. Our goal has been to secure a fix for the Section 174 amortization and to renew 100% bonus depreciation. These efforts are integral to our cost segregation services and crucial for the financial well-being of our clients.

Launch of New Services
In response to the evolving needs of our clients, we launched new services this year, including RETC (Renewable Energy Tax Credits). We are constantly looking for ways to innovate and provide the best possible services to our clients, and these new offerings are a testament to that commitment.
First Bridging the Gap Conference!
This year also marked the successful execution of our first in-person conference, Bridging the Gap! This initiative has provided us with valuable insights and opportunities, further strengthening our position in the industry.
