Marlon currently serves as a 179D Director at Tri-Merit, where he joined with the opportunity to help build and grow the firm’s 179D practice. What began as an exciting challenge has grown into a rewarding journey, and today Marlon leads the department, supports clients through the 179D process, and collaborates closely with internal teams to deliver accurate, value-driven results.
Prior to joining Tri-Merit, Marlon worked as an energy engineer, completing 179D energy studies, LEED projects, and architectural design work. He also plays an active role in his family-owned design-build and remodeling business, assisting with residential construction and renovation projects. This hands-on experience gives him a practical, real-world understanding of how energy efficiency strategies are applied throughout the construction process.
Marlon earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern University, with a minor in Construction and Business Management, providing a strong foundation that blends technical expertise with business insight.

Marlon has traveled to over 30 countries and has fished in locations around the world. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and spending time with friends and family. In Houston, you’ll often find him playing football, boxing, or exploring the city’s newest restaurants.
